Janice Murray Hendrix, 73, of Nahunta passed away early Sunday morning, May 10, 2020, at her residence after an extended illness.

Born in Douglas, her parents were Joe Clarence and Johnnie Ruth Ricketson Murray. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Murray.

Janice was a self-employed seamstress for many years and a member of Lulaton Baptist Church. She loved sewing, gardening, doll repairing and loved pets.

Survivors include her four sons and their spouses, Marty Hendrix (Angela Mock) and Kelly Dean Hendrix (Nykki) both of Hickox, Joseph Nelson Hendrix (Jody) of Yulee, Florida, and Chad Hendrix (Renee) of Hickox; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Easton Lee Williams, Timmy Hurst, Heather Mathie (Brian), Kelly Ann Griffin, Leah Marie Daniels (Ivan), Shane Hendrix and Ryan Hendrix; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeris Wright (Walt) of St. Simons and Joyce Douberly of Waycross; two special aunts, Inez McClendon of Rincon and Becky Fletcher of Douglas; also several nieces, nephews and other relatives; and a host of friends.

Due to COVD-19, the family had a private graveside service Wednesday morning, May 13, at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
