WILLIAMS – Henry Earl Williams Jr., born July 1, 1943, passed away peacefully at home June 8, 2022.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Allison, and her husband, Sean Dobson; son, Hank, and his wife, Joy; and son, Robert. Henry has six grandchildren: Jacob and Liam Dobson of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Joey, Mia, Heinz and Abbie Williams of Spanish Fort, Ala. Henry’s brother, Joel, and his wife, Maggie, live in Woodbine.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Bebe and Henry Williams of Woodbine.

After serving in the Seabees in Vietnam and graduating from Georgia Tech with a mechanical engineering degree, Henry worked with ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia for 11 years (1975-86) and with Public Works at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base for 26 years (1987-13). He also served on the Coastal Marshlands and Shore Protection Committees for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources for 16 years (1997-13).

Henry dearly loved his family and many longtime friends from his youth growing up in Woodbine. He valued family time and looked forward to family vacations on the water or snow skiing, especially the annual Camp Saint Marys adventures when his sweetheart “Linnie,” and he served as counselors on trips with all the grandkids. He was an avid tennis player and gardener (and consumer!) of homegrown tomatoes, both hobbies he passed on to the next generation.

A memorial service was held Monday, June 13, 2022, at Christ Church St. Marys, and interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday evening, June 12, at Allison Memorial Chapel.

The family requests that individuals who want to make donations in Henry’s memory contribute to Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, P.O. 626, Woodbine, GA 31569, to the Bryan-Lang Library Foundation, P.O.
