Ms. Ethel Mae Boone Outlaw, 92, of Kingsland, passed away at The Lakes Senior Care Center here in Kingsland on the morning of Sept. 14, 2020. 

Ms. Outlaw was born on Sept. 20, 1927, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Ellie Crenshaw Boone and Annie Lee Raines Boone. Ms. Outlaw is a member of the Kingsland First Baptist Church, where she worked in the church’s VBS and Sunday school with boys and girls. She preferred to teach first- through third-grade children. She mentored many young ladies during her teaching years. Ms. Outlaw worked with children at the church for over 62 years. 

Ms. Outlaw loved Jesus, her church and her grandchildren. She always had time to go to the activities her grandchildren were participating in. She loved to tell stories about the past. Ms. Outlaw will be missed greatly by everyone who knew and loved her. 

Ms. Outlaw is survived by her children, Sharon (Thomas) Woods of Kingsland, Sheila (Henry) Buchanan of White Oak and JC (Debbie) Outlaw III of St. Marys; her grandchildren, Cindy (Greg) Horne, Dr. Thomas (Amy) Woods Jr., Bucky (LeAnn) Buchanan, Hal (Allison) Buchanan, Heather (Darrel) Vanzant and Jamie (Amy) Outlaw; her great-grandchildren, Morgan Lee Ballew, Aubry Paige Horne, Wyatt Brady Woods, Tate Eli Woods, Jackson Buchanan, Cole Buchanan, Zach Buchanan, Kaylee Grace Buchanan, Rhett Cannie Buchanan, Amelia Buchanan, Hayden Outlaw, Camden Outlaw, Melodi Outlaw, Brooke Vanzant and Hunter Vanzant; and her great-great-grandchildren, Lee Ballew and Elijah Ballew. 

Besides her parents, Ms. Outlaw also joins her beloved husband, James Cannie Outlaw Jr.; her brothers, Eugene Boone and Alton Boone; and her great-grandsons, Reed Woods and Carson Woods in Heaven. 

A graveside service for Ms. Outlaw will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys with Pastor Tim Hall, Pastor Brian Parker and Terry Brown presiding. Bucky Buchanan, Hal Buchanan, Jackson Buchanan, Cole Buchanan, Zach Buchanan, Rhett Buchanan and Greg Horne will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of The Lakes Crossing Senior Care Center, Charles Ward, Paul Anderson, Jeff Bailey and Robbie O’Quinn.
