Camden shooting suspect arrested in Indiana

A Camden County man wanted in the April 25 shooting death of a St. Marys woman has been apprehended in Indiana.

Roney Dominic Wilson, 31, was arrested Thursday, Aug. 25, by the U.S. Marshals fugitive task force in the southern district of Indiana, according to a St. Marys Police Department press release.

Wilson has been wanted on warrants for felony murder and two counts of aggravated assault since April 28 in a domestic violence incident that killed Jimeshia Bryanna Gordon, a 24-year-old single mother of two, and injured her 14-month-old daughter at the Cumberland Oaks apartment complex. The girl suffered a wound to her forehead. She was treated and released April 25 at Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden Campus.

SMPD received a tip on Aug. 15 that Wilson had been seen in an Indianapolis pawn shop three days earlier and sent the information to the task force.

Wilson has been charged in Indiana with unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and is being held in the Marion County Jail in Indianapolis pending extradition.
