Searchers find body of missing boater
A Woodbine man has been found dead after being reported missing Monday morning when he and his wife failed to return from a boating trip Sunday.
The body of Raymond Hutchins, 59, was found Tuesday near the mouth of the Satilla River by a Georgia Department of Natural Resources boat crew. A joint search and rescue team is still looking for his wife, Laura Hutchins, 61.
A Georgia DNR crew found their empty boat — with the engine running and their dog still aboard — Monday near the north end of Jekyll Sound.
The Hutchinses left a Harrietts Bluff dock at about 11 a.m. Sunday. Their son reported them missing Monday morning to the watch standers at Coast Guard Station Brunswick. The Coast Guard, auxiliary and Georgia DNR have been searching by boat and helicopter.
