Kingsland, Woodbine hold elections on Nov 7

Kingsland and Woodbine voters have just a few more days to cast their ballots in the Nov. 7 election. Woodbine and Kingsland each have two city council seats on the ballot.

Residents can vote early from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday at the voter registration office in Woodbine regardless of their city or precinct. The office is in the old courthouse at 200 E. Fourth St. Early voting closes at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3. All absentee ballots must also be submitted by Nov. 3.

On Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and voters must cast their ballots at their polling place. Residents can check their status and polling location at

In Woodbine, newcomer Barbara Scott and incumbents Hank Higginbotham and Louise Mitchell are vying for two seats. Woodbine elects at-large council members by plurality. The two candidates who receive the most votes will take office.

In Kingsland, both incumbents face challengers. James Galloway and incumbent James Ham are running for Post 1. Mike McClain and incumbent Rick Winters are running for Post 2. Kingsland elects its council members by majority.
