Clifford Lee Mainor Sr., aka “Kippy,” of Woodbine passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at 11:11 a.m. in the presence of his heartbroken family members at UF Health in Jacksonville, Fla.
He is preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Feodosher “Fruit” Mainor; daughter, Gail; siblings, Chris Jr., Wallace, James, Janie, Sandra, Jacob and Lilla.
He will be greatly missed and cherished by his wife of 57 years, Joanne V. Mainor; five children, Rita Mitchell of Snellville, Clifford (Lori) Mainor Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev., Lamar (Monique) Lawrence of Jasper, Ala., Crystal (Robert) Mainor-German and Robin (Kizziler) Mainor-Knight, both of Woodbine; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Ida Copeland of Folkston, Theodore (Gloria) Parrish of Atlanta, James (Nyanza) Parrish, Jerelene (Isaiah) Williams and Sylvester “Syl” Parrish, all of Savannah, and Leotis Parrish of Tarboro; father-in-law, Laurie Drummond Jr. of Woodbine; two very special friends, Willie Dunham, a barber for 59 years, and Bobby Lampkin, a fellow bondsman; one adopted daughter, Sally Rhoades; one adopted grandson, Eddie “Bear” Benton; five godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church.
Sunset Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
