William R. Husser passed away June 16, 2018, at the age of 79 in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones in St. Marys.
Bill was born on April 7, 1939, in Bellaire, Ohio. He graduated from Las Vegas High School in Las Vegas, Nev.
Maj. Husser served 24 years in the Army. He completed his master’s degree in criminology, and received numerous awards and commendations to include the Bronze Star with Valor and the Purple Heart. Bill worked as a counter intelligence officer for 12 years, EWCTO Defense Mapping Agency for six years, civil service and retired from Lockheed Martin.
Bill was loved by many for his great wit, infectious smile, his kind and compassionate spirit.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Husser; stepchildren, Heather Imada and Wade Slaughter; sister, Patti Hudson and brother-in-law Jim Hudson; nieces and nephews, David and Sherri Stout, Autumn, Alexis, Jim and Shelly Hudson, Jordan, Logan, Isabella and Jillian.
Private services are being held by the family at a later date with an inurnment to follow at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fla.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
