Georgia A. Blair, 77, of Kingsland passed away Friday, July 20, 2018, at Community Hospice in Fernandina Beach, Fla.
Born March 30, 1941, in Freeport, Long Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Zwirlein. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Zwirlein.
Georgia had been a resident of Camden County since 1979, and was retired from the Navy Exchange with 35 years of service. She was a volunteer with the Camden County elementary school system and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and the ladies auxiliary.
Georgia enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, shopping and square dancing. She was a sponsor for two Patriot Service Dogs for disabled veterans in Jacksonville, Fla.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in St. Marys with Father Mariusz officiating. Burial will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cory Brown, Bryant Brown, Dennis Foster, Keith Foster, Brian Blair and Edward Kaczmarek.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 27, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys with a rosary being recited at 5 p.m. and visitation to follow until 7 p.m.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Blair of Kingsland; two daughters, Shelley Ann Blair of Kingsland and Jodi Diane Blair of St. Marys; two sisters, Louise Eigmey of Fairhaven, Vt., and Phyllis Marcellus of Spokane, Wash.; three grandchildren, Cory E. Brown, Bryant Brown and Bailey Johnsen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Georgia Blair be made to Patriot Service Dogs, 10545 S.E. 42nd Court, Belleview, FL 34420.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
