Robert I. Granger Jr., 70, of St. Marys passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018, at his residence.
Bob was born March 21, 1948, in Miami, Fla., and was the son of the late Robert I. Granger Sr. and the late Betty Jane Granger.
Bob had been a resident of Camden County for the past 41 years. He was a Miami Beach police officer for 10 years and 20-year retiree with Gilman Paper Company in St. Marys. He enjoyed camping, planting and gardening, traveling and visiting with his friends and family every chance he could. Bob was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and also served as a deacon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor George Anderson and Pastor Don Schunck officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys.
Survivors include his wife, Fran Granger; two sons, Robert I. Granger III (Allison) and Matthew Granger (Amanda), all of St. Marys; sister, Barbara Granger Little of St. Marys; brother, Steve Granger (Thresa) of Navarre, Fla.; mother-in-law, Ann Coppi; five grandchildren, Hayley Granger, Hannah Granger, Heather Granger, Kaine Granger and Jenna Granger; and several nieces and nephews.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Chapel of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
