Charles Edison Brazell, 87, of Kingsland passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018.
Mr. Brazell was a lifelong resident of Camden County. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bessie Gay Brazell; his wife, Brenda Capps Brazell; son, Charles Steven Brazell; six brothers and six sisters.
Mr. Brazell had been employed with Occidental Petroleum Corporation, retiring with 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1952-1954 and was attached to the United States Air Force through SCARWAF (Special Category Army reassigned with the Air Force). He enjoyed dancing, fishing, planting his gardens, but most of all loved his family. He was a member of the Kingsland First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Myrtice Marrs (Fred) of St. Simons Island, Cynthia Brazell Strickland, Bess Renee Brazell Norton (Tim) and Deidra Brazell O'Quinn (Russell) all of Kingsland; grandchildren, Courtney Strickland, Ryan Norton, Chase Strickland, Hunter Strickland, Kendal Norton and Charles Royce O'Quinn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Kingsland First Baptist Church with Pastor Vernon Dillingham and Pastor Brian Parker officiating. Burial followed at Brazell Cemetery.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Allison Memorial Chapel.
Pallbearers were Ryan Norton, Chase Strickland, Hunter Strickland, John Robert Davis, Joseph Stover and John Avis Brazell.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
