Victoria Renee Weiss, 69, passed away in her home in Kingsland on Aug. 5, 2018. She was born on Oct. 6, 1948, in Newark, N.J. to Ray A. and Elizabeth Jean Weiss.
Renee was a well-known and respected attorney who ran a successful solo law practice in southeast Georgia for over 30 years. She formerly held an office in Brunswick but has worked over the past five years solely in her office in St. Marys. Her areas of expertise included all matters related to family law, bankruptcy and personal injury matters. She had a reputation of being a problem solver and always focused on the legal issues that affected her clients personally. Renee graduated from Murray State University in 1972, earning a degree in economics and mathematics. She earned her juris doctor from Nova University Law School in 1980. Renee was also a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Renee’s passions included her strong faith in and love of God, family, friends, golf and garage sales. Many afternoons and weekends you could find Renee out with her friends on the links of her favorite golf course, Laurel Island Links golf club, as well as at garage sales and flea markets.
Renee is survived by her two brothers, Matt Weiss (Suzanne) and Chris R. Weiss (Nancy), along with nieces Christina and Madeline Weiss, and nephews Jonathan, Luke, Paul, Mark and Johnny Weiss. Renee has two children, Lance Weiss and Deanette Weiss Myers. She also left behind her beloved dog, Toby. Renee had a gentle, loving nature, always helping and giving to others. She always showed kindness and gave assistance to anyone in need. Her sweet spirit will be greatly missed by all.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Ray A Weiss (died July 11, 2007) and her beloved mother, Elizabeth Jean Weiss (died March 28, 2017).
A celebration of Renee’s life will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on what would have been Renee’s birthday, Oct. 6, 2018, at the Laurel Island Links golf club, 233 Marsh Harbour Parkway in Kingsland.
