Camden wrestlers place second at Jazz Town Duals
The Camden County A wrestling squad won seven matches and placed second of 25 teams last weekend at the Jazz Town Duals in New Orleans.
The field — with lineups also from Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Missouri and Indiana — was divided into five pools of five teams, with round-robin and bracket competition. Camden took two teams to the tournament.
Camden A sailed through pool matches, crushing the Crusader B team of Louisiana (71-12), Live Oak of Louisiana (65-18), Floyd Central of Indiana (71-9), and Springstead of Florida (59-10). NOWC and Bayou Elite of Louisiana and Major Decision of Missouri fell in the first three bracket assignments before Camden lost the final to Best Trained of Texas.
Camden B beat the Leonidas A team from Texas, 48-31 for its only win in four round-robin matches. Its losses were to Major Decision, Bayou Elite and Rayne of Louisiana.
Camden A wrestlers were Chris Jackson, R.J. Woodard, Tyler Crew, Anthony Carter, Bryce Crew, Javonte Graves, Andre Bissainthe, Raydan Wilder, Antonio Stewart, Denton Spencer, Bunmi Smith, Brandon Orum, Tyler Dahlgren, William Vincent, Demarquis Hall and Adam Allwine.
With Camden B were Chris Davies, Thomas Fredericks, Omega Clark, Cody Herrin, John Aguilar, Michael Gibson, Will Watson, Drew Norris, Aiden Fitzpatrick, Hunter Malson, Michael Harding, Tyler Floyd, Chandler Merrier, Hayden Malson, Ralph Wilkerson and Nathan Orum.
