Five people have been charged with murder in connection to a body found Thursday, according to a news release from the St. Marys Police Department.
The news release said the body of John Andrew Mamph, 29, was found in the water of Gilligan’s Island, a popular manmade lake located off Georgia Highway 40.
The five people charged with murder are Anthony Scott Mistretta, 27, Debra Leane Doughtery, 36, Frank Patrick Kennedy III, 55, and Megan Leigh Robison, 33, all of St. Marys, and Bernice Rose McGuire, 25, of Kingsland.
All five were booked into the Camden County Jail in Woodbine. None have been issued a bond for release.
The news release said the St. Marys Police Department investigated the case with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.
“During the late evening hours of July 6 and early morning hours of July 7, numerous interviews were conducted at the St. Marys Police Department,” the news release. “Following the interviews, sufficient evidence was gathered to confirm the circumstances leading to Mr. Mamph’s death. As a result of the interviews and evidence gathered, five arrests were made.”
