Shirley Ann Arnold-Alexander, 60, of St Marys has peacefully passed on to eternal rest on Feb. 13. 

She was born on Oct. 25, 1961, to Flora Williams and the late Gilbert Speed in Quitman. Shirley grew up and attended school in Nashville. She accepted Christ at an incredibly early age and was an active member of the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. Shirley was a beautiful, loving, kind hearted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many and served faithfully on the usher board.

Shirley loved knitting, reading, shopping, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a beautiful, loving, kind-hearted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to all. Shirley was a dedicated military spouse for over 27 years and served as president of the Enlisted Wives Organization. She had a servant’s heart and loved people and would go out of her way to help anyone in need. 

Services for Shirley Ann Arnold-Alexander will be on Friday, Feb. 18, at Allison Memorial Chapel, 10141 Colerain Road, St. Marys. Public viewing time will be 3-5 p.m. Memorial service will begin at 5.

The family is requesting that all guests abide by current COVID-19 guidelines. Please maintain social distancing. Appropriate face masks are required to be worn at all times. Thank you.
