Kingsland police are investigating the deaths of two active duty sailors after they both were found dead at the same house within four days.

The four candidates running for Kingsland City Council answered questions about raising taxes, managing a natural disaster, retaining public safety employees and other issues in a forum hosted Tues

“In life, there is never a wrong time, nor is it ever too late to say ‘thank you,’” said Georgia Department of Veterans Services Commissioner Mike Roby.

The Area 1-7A volleyball title belongs again to Camden County High after the Lady Wildcats dunked Colquitt and tournament host Lowndes Oct. 3.

Needing one victory at the Region 1-7A softball tournament for a state invitation, Camden County High got payback on two rivals in Kingsland last week and earned a first-round home series.

The Wildcats erased any suspense quickly last Friday night, notching three touchdowns in the first seven minutes and bouncing Forest Park, 53-7 on homecoming. 

Obituaries

Roy A. Robertson, 90, of St. Marys died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at his residence.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Carolyn D. Long, 73, of St. Marys died Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at Sears Manor Nursing Home in Brunswick.

Services and a complete list of survivors are to be announced later.

Brian T. Jarrell, 25, of St. Marys died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017.

Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
