The wheels of government can sometimes turn slowly, even during times of crisis when people need help.

An early morning house fire on Sept. 14 that claimed the lives of a young boy and woman has been ruled accidental by the state fire marshal. A second woman escaped the blaze.

Mr. George Mitchel “Murphy” Carter, 70, of Kingsland passed away surrounded by family on the afternoon of Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.
