Leslie Calvin Linker, 96, of St. Marys passed away at his home on Aug. 10, 2021. 

Leslie was born on Jan. 8, 1925 in Argyle to the late Wade and Ida Linker. He has resided in Camden County all of his life. Growing up in Hazzards Neck as a young boy, he hunted and fished to help support his family and he did it well.

He served in the United States Coast Guard in the Pacific from 1942-1945 and was second class gunner’s mate in the Philippines, met the love of his life and married Frances "Jackie" Long from St. Marys and they were married for 63 years. He retired from Gilman Paper Company after 33 years. He  loved hunting and fishing, a very giving man and always sharing his catch of the day. In his earlier years, he enjoyed square dancing with his wife, Jackie. He loved his family, never met a stranger and all who knew him loved to hear of the days of hunting and fishing. He will be deeply missed by so many.

Survivors include a son, Larry Linker (Carole) of Woodbine; a daughter, Debbie (Larry) McEachern of St. Marys; grandchildren, Tony Howard, Leslie Tvrdy, all of St. Marys, and Wade and Aaron Linker of Woodbine; great-grandchildren, Alex Kneeland (Patrick), Anna Draluck, Taylor Howard, Gracie Howard, all of St. Marys; great-great-Grandchildren Aiden Mayton, Journey Mayton, Rileigh Kneeland and Everly Draluck.

Funeral Services were held at 10 am at Allison Memorial Chapel on Monday, Aug. 16, 2021,with burial following in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation was held 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15. Officiating services was Sam Eason.

Active pallbearers were Josh Howard, Josh Draluck, Randal Moore, Brant Portwood, Patrick Kneeland and Von Messer.

Allison Memorial Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
