Mary “Jeanette” Byrd Miller, 68, of White Oak passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at her daughter’s residence following an extended illness.

Born in Waycross, her parents were C.R. Byrd and Barbara Thrift Byrd. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mike Miller; her mother-in-law, Mary Eva Miller; and her nephew, Joseph Miller.

Jeanette graduated from Camden County High School in 1972. She worked many years as a paraprofessional with Camden County Board of Education before retiring. She enjoyed going to the beach, collecting sharks’ teeth, and loved her grandbabies and great grandbaby.
Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Loper (Larry), of Brunswick, Becky Miller (Edward Jones), of Hortense; four grandchildren, Lori Quates (Cody), Michael Miller, Garrett Dubose and Kaylie Miller; a great grandchild, McKinlee Quates; a brother, Robert Byrd, of Waynesville; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Herrin (J.R.) of Hickox and her twin, Janice Miller (Sam Jr.) of White Oak; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26 at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27 at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 259, White Oak, with Rev. Tommy Sikes officiating.

Pallbearers will be Michael Miller, Johnny Herrin, Rick Brothers, Cody Quates, Larry Loper and Kim Carter.

Due to the COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask, are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
