Nathan Devon Roberts, 69, of Kingsland passed away on Jan. 16, 2022, at Community Hospice, Jacksonville, Florida.     

Nathan Devon Roberts was born April 6, 1952, to the late Aldophus Roberts and Rosa Lee Jackson Roberts. He attended the public schools of Camden County and enrolled in the Job Corps. As a child under the leadership of the late Mary E. Stocks, he attended Railroad Avenue Church of God. In later years, he attended Camden Street Church of God.

Nathan was employed as a cook at Jacksonville International Airport and the Holiday Inn in New Jersey. He was also employed by the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island as a steward, and he also worked for CSX on the railroad.

Besides his father and mother, those preceding him in death are 14 siblings.

He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Tina Marie Roberts, Springdale, Ohio, Jermaine Roberts, New Jersey, and Cleopatra (Shaun) Thomas, Daytona Beach, Florida; four brothers, Herman (Annette) Roberts, Sandhill, Florida, David Roberts, Harleyville, South Carolina, Darrell Roberts, Kingsland, and Don (Gia) Roberts, Tampa, Florida; seven sisters, Nazerine VanPelt, Kingsland, Janice Albertie, Sandhill, Florida, Velda Spead, Pensacola, Florida, Beverly Roberts, Kingsland, Miriam (Bishop Kevin) Broomfield, Rosiland Hines, Kingsland, and Rhonda (Matthew) Jackson, Kingsland; uncles, William (MaryAnn) McCombs, Kingsland and Samuel (Doris) McCombs, Jacksonville, Florida; aunts, Gracie Mae Miller, Savannah, Frances McCombs, Savannah, Robbie Lee Whitlock, Savannah and Mercedes Thomas, Charlotte, North Carolina; brother-in-law, James Nealy, Deland, Florida; sisters-in-law, Faye Roberts, Kingsland, Deborah Roberts, Yulee, Florida, and Bernice Roberts, Eulonia; godchild, Kareem Broomfield; special friends, Dwayne Dawson, Marcy Brewton, Samuel Kelly, Robert King, Travis Jackson and Wayne Spatcher; lifelong devoted friend, Rosemary Jones; special devoted friend, Patrice Jordan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at Kinlaw Cemetery, Old Still Road, Kingsland. A public walk-thru viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Masks are required and social distancing will be enforced.
