Loretta Tin Luen Wong, 80, of Yulee, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021.

She was born on Oct. 15, 1940, in in rural Canton, China, to the late Lau Pak Min and Fung Wang See.

Loretta is survived by her husband, Kenny, and son, Alex, but is preceded in death by her son, Alfred.

She and her husband emigrated from Hong Kong, where she was a nurse, to the Jacksonville, Florida, area to start a new life and family. It is here that she was the most successful, as she was an entrepreneur running three different restaurants along with her husband for over 40 years from the Rice Paddy, Jacksonville, Florida, in the ‘70s to the Bamboo House in Fernandina Beach, Florida, from 1979 to 2001 and finally Borrell Creek Landing, St. Marys, from 1985 to 2016.

In every restaurant, she was well known to all of the regular customers, was very friendly, and would stop and chat with them just to see how they were doing. Everyone enjoyed her company and was very sad when she finally retired to enjoy life and beyond.

In her retirement years she enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, family and friends, and especially liked cruises.

Viewing will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18 with funeral services starting 11 a.m. at River of Praise Worship Center, 83410 St. Mark Drive, Yulee, FL 32097, with pastor Tony Wang from the Chinese Christian Church of Jacksonville officiating.
