Camden County’s March 8 special election, which will decide a ballot referendum on the county’s property purchase for Spaceport Camden, offers several opportunity for registered voters to cast their votes.
Those who were registered as of Feb. 15 are eligible to participate. Voters who have questions about voting status or where they vote may call the Camden County Board of Elections and Registration (BoER) at (912) 576-3245 or log into their personal voter account on the Georgia Secretary of State website at https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.

Absentee ballot
Absentee voting is available for the March 8 election, but they must be requested no later than Feb. 25. Ballot applications can be requested through the Camden County Board of Elections office at https://www.camdencountyga.gov/1094/Absentee-Ballots or through the state website at https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.
Absentee ballots must be returned to the BoER office, 200 E. Fourth St., in Woodbine during business hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday) or at the satellite office during the advance voting hours listed below.
Advance voting
Advance in-person voting will be starting next week at the Camden County Annex Building Community Room, 107 N. Gross Road, Kingsland, using electronic voting machines. The center will be open for early voting 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26 and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28 through Friday, March 4.
Election Day
Election Day voting will be offered at all local polling places from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“The BoER encourages the use of masks and social distancing for all electors during the Advance in-person voting opportunities. Poll workers will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment and disinfecting all voting equipment throughout each day of in-person voting,” stated a news release from Camden County.
Polling place change
One polling location — Waverly — has been changed to a new site.
“Due to conditions not conducive to the safety and well-being of our electors and poll workers, the Waverly Poll- Precinct 2, will be relocated to the Camden County Fire Station in Waverly on Hwy. 17,” noted a BoER news release this week.
