Amber Renee Morris, 29, was born on Feb. 26, 1992, to Guy and Renee Morris. Amber departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021.

Amber is survived by her mother, Renee; a sister, Taylor Morris; two nephews, Guy and Grady; granddaddy, Leon Thrift; Nana, Wanda Lee; uncles, Travis and Scott Thrift and Doug Roberts; aunts, Michelle Roberts and Jenell Thrift; and cousins, Wesley, Gabe, Colt and Greyson Thrift, Sadie and Tripp Allen and Connor Roberts.

Amber will be remembered by her beautiful smile, infectious laughter and her ability to love wholeheartedly.

Diagnosed at a very young age with diabetes, Amber knew what it meant to struggle. Her struggles taught her to be compassionate and caring with others. Amber was employed at Supporting Individuals with Disabilities in Fernandina Beach, Florida where she cared for patients and desired for her to return and resume her role as a caregiver once her sight was corrected.

Most recently, Amber had the privilege of caring for Memaw (Wanda) as she transitioned to her eternal home. Watching the deliberate, yet tender attention Amber devoted to Memaw’s needs confirmed her heart of compassion and her calling.

As she struggled to have her sight restored, she often expressed her desire to return to work and continue helping with those she had grown to love. Make no mistake, Amber can see clearly now. Granddaddy recently shared how he had led Amber to Christ while they sat together in his truck some time ago. What an awesome privilege, Leon!

Ephesians 2:8-9 reads “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing: it is the gift of God, not a result of works so that no one may boast.”

Amber is now a part of that great reunion day we all long for. She is at home with her Savior, her Daddy and her Memaw. A glorious celebration is taking place that we can all share in. Her family knows, when the time comes, Amber would love to see you there.

Services will be held at noon on Monday, Dec. 20, at Southeast Community Church with Martin Turner officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Colesburg Cemetery.

Allison Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
