Why did you go into your particular field? Although my fields can seem unrelated, they all require similar skills and community engagement. It’s my priority and privilege to service Camden County.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I had a short-lived dream of becoming an astronaut. Of course I had no clue what that entailed, but I’m still mesmerized by outer space.
What was your first job? Adventureland, an amusement park on Long Island, New York. I served ice cream and my brothers operated the rides. I still love to visit and ride the ferris wheel and swing carousel.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received? “A year from now you’ll be glad you started today.”
What’s your favorite thing about your job? Connecting with and helping people.
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you first started your career? My goals are not unrealistic and practicality is subjective.
Who do you consider to be your greatest mentor and why? My mentors are those who have encouraged me and guided me through different stages of my education and professional life, especially in environments where I was new. Thank you, Beth Atkinson, Michelle Wilson, Emily Boyle, Bob Langan, John Minor, and Justin Moore.
When you’re not at work, what do you do to relax? I spend time with my husband, Justin. We like concerts, plays, eating out, sporting events, movies, riding bikes, walking, cooking together, and lounging with our cats while I crochet.
What is something about you that most people don’t know? I have two brothers and one is my twin.
How do you hope to grow in your career? I hope to establish a clearer identity as an artist outside of my custom work, create original music, and become a bank lender.
If you couldn’t do what you’re doing now, what would you be doing? I would become an art teacher.
