Why did you go into your particular field? My love of real estate. Prior to becoming a real estate agent, I did personal investments and home staging. It was a natural fit that I genuinely love. Helping others obtain the goal of homeownership is extremely rewarding.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? It changed all the time. Doctor, attorney and fashion designer were my top three.

What was your first job? My first real job was working as a registered nurse at the prison in Folkston. There was never a dull moment, that's for sure. I did serve tables here and there prior to receiving my bachelor’s degree in nursing.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received? Nothing is more important than your beloved relationships, and if you want something, expect it to happen.

What’s your favorite thing about your job? My favorite thing about my job is developing relationships with new people and seeing clients' happiness with their purchase or sale. My main goal is client satisfaction, and I love seeing it come to fruition. I love what I do so it doesn't feel like "work.”

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you first started your career? That I was going to absolutely love it. I knew it would be a good fit, but I didn't know just how good of fit it would be.

Who do you consider to be your greatest mentor and why? Hands down, my mother. My mom, Jan Outlaw, is an incredible woman. Selfless (to a fault at times), supportive, and has given me the best advice … even when I didn't ask for it. Haha! Her mentorship has guided me to become a kind, compassionate, creative, driven woman that goes after what I want in life and that has ultimately led to my success as a Realtor. She always made me feel I could do whatever I want and be successful at it. The confidence she gave me as a child led me to believe in myself.

When you’re not at work, what do you do to relax? Hang out with my children, husband, family, and friends, whether that be by the pool, playing games or vacationing when we can. I have an amazing family and am fortunate to have a great relationship with all of them.

What is something about you that most people don’t know? That I am a total softy. I am always a little surprised to hear others describe me as "strong" because I am such an emotional little lady; however, I am a big believer in not allowing emotions to dictate your actions. A "bad" five minutes doesn't need to turn into a "bad" day. We have the ability to choose happiness and productivity, and we all deserve that.

How do you hope to grow in your career? I hope to open my own brokerage and lead others to become successful, ethical agents; however, I will never convert to strictly managing others. I will always represent clients during their purchases and sales. I also hope to write a book some day. I am unsure of the trajectory but trust God and the universe will open the doors when I am ready.

If you couldn’t do what you’re doing now, what would you be doing? It is difficult to imagine myself not being a Realtor so this is a tough question but most likely full-time real estate investing ... or perhaps a kindergarten teacher!
