Why did you go into your particular field? I had no idea what I wanted to do with my career, but my father had been an agent for 30 years, so I figured I would learn from him and get good at something before moving into another field if I didn’t enjoy it. I ended up finding an agency for sale in Brunswick and took my father’s approach to business and just tried to scale his business model up.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Baseball player.

What was your first job? Server.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received? Overpay your good employees.

What’s your favorite thing about your job? Helping develop new agents so they have a lucrative career and teaching clients about how to leverage their insurance protection.

Who do you consider to be your greatest mentor and why? My father. He created so many good processes in this business that allowed me to focus on scaling the business. He taught me hard work, dedication and leadership.

When you’re not at work, what do you do to relax? Fishing, hunting and golfing with my brother, Trace, who is also my business partner

What is something about you that most people don’t know? I studied abroad in Spain, and I’m very close to being fluent.

How do you hope to grow in your career? I’d like to expand to multiple states and have more locations

If you couldn’t do what you’re doing now, what would you be doing? I don’t really know. I find the law very interesting, and I’ve also considered the private equity market.
