A Massachusetts man was arrested Oct. 26 in Indiana in connection to a dead body discovered in Woodbine in October, according to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.
Jason Michael Palmer, 45, of Littleton, Mass., was in the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office jail in Indiana as of Tuesday, where he awaits extradition to Camden County.
The sheriff’s office said Palmer will be charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and concealing a death.
On Oct. 8, the sheriff’s office responded to a call about a woman’s body found adjacent to Roadie’s Chevron Truck Stop in Woodbine. The body was found in a wooded area off of a service road.
At the time, the sheriff’s office was unable to identify the woman.
According to the release, the sheriff’s office and Georgia Bureau of Investigations later learned she was Jessica Goodrich, 46, of Worchester, Mass. According to her obituary, Goodrich was the mother of three boys.
The news release said Camden County Sheriff’s Office investigators determined Goodrich was a passenger in a long-distance trucker’s vehicle, and Palmer was identified as the driver. The truck was located at a truck stop in Indiana.
Sheriff’s office investigators notified the U.S. Marshal’s Office and the Indiana State Police, and Palmer was arrested.
