Sparklight awards $7,500 to nonprofit

To support nutrition education for young adults in Kingsland, Sparklight awarded a $7,500 grant to Camden County Family Connections through its Charitable Giving Fund. The grant will support the Healthy Eating Habits Program at Clubhouse Camden, the nonprofit’s after-school program.

The College of Coastal Georgia is celebrating a historic start to the fall semester, with first-day numbers showing more than 3,700 students enrolled and more than 800 new freshmen. If the figures stay steady, both will set new records for the college.

FFA members attend workshop

Alissa Clark, a member  of the Camden County High School FFA Chapter, recently attended the statewide FFA Floral Design Career Development Event training at Camp John Hope. The workshop was designed to strengthen students’ floral design skills while building confidence in their creative abilities.

Capps named Camden Campus’ top volunteer

Southeast Georgia Health System Volunteer Services recently announced Terri Capps as the Camden Campus Volunteer of the Year. Capps began volunteering with the Camden Campus in November 2023. Her first placement was at the Guest Services Desk.

If Camden County leaders want to bring data centers to this corner of Georgia, it’s going to take a lot of money and time before it’s possible. The county was in the running for a data center project that’s under the code name Project Produce.

Camden County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), joined by partners from across the community, held a joint training exercise Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the Camden County Resiliency Operations Center in Kingsland. This continues Camden County’s critical partnership with the U.S. Navy.
