The Salvation Army adds emergency disaster vehicle

FedEx has donated an emergency disaster rapid response vehicle to the Georgia Division of The Salvation Army. This  contribution will  enhance The Salvation Army of Georgia’s ability to respond swiftly and effectively to natural disasters and emergencies.

Sheila McNeill, the former state senator, Navy League president, beloved friend and leader in Camden County died Monday at the age of 81. “She’ll be missed terribly,” said Mike Hodges, who voters elected to McNeill’s state Senate seat when she decided not to run for re-election.

Hurricane Debby won’t be remembered in Camden County for her ferocity, but she certainly brought a lot of rain Monday and Tuesday.

Season closure puts eyes again on federal red snapper policy

As of Tuesday, no one can legally keep a red snapper harvested from waters from North Carolina to the Florida Keys. The recreational season lasted one day, July 12, and the commercial season closed this week because of vessels hitting the annual catch limit before the end of the year.
