JOHNSON — Justice Millsaps Johnson was born Jan. 15, 1971, in Memphis, Tennessee, to his proud parents, Johnnie Louis and Berthiness Johnson. Justice’s distinguished name was given to him by his father, and his grandfather often called him Mr. Sapp.

Justice grew up in Reston, Va., a suburb of Washington, D.C. He attended and graduated from Herndon High School in 1989. In high school, Justice played football and was nominated as a high school All-American football player.

Justice attended college and concentrated in music engineering. He established his music studio known as Dark City Media. He loved music and made considerable accomplishments, including RIAA Platinum- and Gold-certified records with such artists as Johnnie Taylor, DMX, and other hip hop and R&B artists.

Justice, like his grandfather and father, loved the water, beach, and most of all, fishing. He was an avid and indeed a very good fisherman.

Justice married Sarah Seifert in 1999, and they had two beautiful daughters, Jazmyn and Jaylah. Jazmyn and Jaylah were his life, and he was their best friend.

Justice was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnnie and Beulah Johnson and Lee and Eugenia Walker, three aunts and five uncles.

Justice is survived by his daughters, Jazmyn Johnson and Jaylah Johnson; parents, Johnnie Louis and Berthiness Johnson; brothers, Johnnie (Debbie) Johnson, Gregory Johnson and Ahmad (Melissa) Johnson; nephews, Demetrius Johnson, Marques Johnson and Brandon Johnson; nieces, Aleasha Checo and Mya Checo; aunts, Lee Ann (Maldred) Peters, Thelma Weir and John Ella Bachus; a host of cousins and friends, including his best friend, Eric Thompson; and special cousin, Cynthia Ellison.

A memorial service was Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, at Cedar Lodge at Honey Creek in Waverly, Ga.
