Minister Mae Catherine Maynor-Hill, 75, of Woodbine passed away on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at Baptist Hospice Downtown, Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by her loved ones. 

She was born on Feb. 5, 1946 to the late, Alton Maynor Sr. and Lucy Williams-Maynor in the Colesburg community (Camden County). Mae Catherine, as she was affectionately known throughout the community, was a graduate of Ralph J. Bunche Training School in Camden County. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Woodbine and attended Charis Bible College in Jacksonville, Florida, where she studied theology. Mae Catherine was also a former member of the local Order of the Eastern Star. Her favorite pastimes were spent ministering to people about the goodness of the Lord and gardening until her health began to fail.

Mae Catherine was preceded in death by both parents, Alton and Lucy Maynor Sr.; her husband, Wayne Hill Jr.; her brothers, Alton Maynor Jr. and Johnny B. Baker Sr.; and her granddaughter, Nicoya Jackson.

Those left to cherish her memories: her children, Patina Jackson, Kingsland, Anthony (Josephine) Jackson, Woodbine, Faye Jackson (Reggie), Kingsland, Raye Jackson (Veronica Green), Jacksonville, Florida, Glenda Jackson, Woodbine, and her granddaughter who was raised like her very own, Candace Jackson; stepchildren who she loved as her own, Justin, Tori and Christopher (Mary) Hill, all of Jacksonville, Florida; her sister in-law, Celia Maynor, Folkston; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Joe Nathan (Cathy) Maynor, Brunswick; her close cousins, Mable Hill and Iris Waye; close friend, Amanda Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her presence dearly.

A walk-thru viewing will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28 at Allison Memorial Chapel, 10141 Colerain Road, St. Marys.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Woodbine.

Services will be live-streamed at royalfuneralhomeinc.com.

Those who are planning to attend services are asked to wear masks to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Final arrangements are entrusted to Royal Funeral Home, Inc., Jesup.
