Robert J. Robson, 84, of St. Marys, passed away Oct. 8, 2021, while at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Carol, of 63 years; his sister, Patsy Lapoint (Eric) of Chubbuck, Idaho; brother Charles Robson (Kay) of Billings, Montana; sister-in-law, Pat Juhl of Roundup, Montana; his sons, Daniel Robson, Kingsland, and Steve Robson (Aimee) of Heath, Texas; his daughters Sheyla Ogilvie (Quentin) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Debra Smith (Will) of LaVista, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Victoria Robson, Danielle Turnage (Jon), Lauren Ogilvie, Josh

Straight (Jasmine), Joel Straight (Thuy), Jaimee Greenstreet (David), Ray Smith; great-grandchildren Dakota and Isaiah Straight, Gage Straight, Bella Straight, Ezra Greenstreet; and extended family, Jacob, Sarah, Adeline

Nicholson, Ashley Blankenship; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Ann Robson and brothers, Donald, Cecil (Revenna), Jackie, Jerry(Alice), Bernard, Gary(Dona) and Adam Ogilvie.

Bob was raised in Roundup, Montana, on Goulding Creek. He entered the Army in 1954 and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1957.

Bob married Carol Hamilton of Lavina, Montana in 1958. He worked for his father doing construction, after which, he worked for Paul Funk as a mechanic. Their son, Daniel, was born in 1959 and daughter, Sheyla, in 1960.

Bob joined the Navy in 1961. He was transferred to New Jersey, where their daughter, Debra, was born in 1961. He was then transferred to Fort Belvoir, where he attended nuclear power school. During his three tours in Antarctica,

his son, Steve, was born. Bob helped build the McMurdo nuclear power plant and then returned to decommission it on his third tour. He also taught his trade to others while in Fort Belvoir. While continuing his Navy career, he

spent time in Diego Garcia and Italy.

After retiring from the Navy in 1976 he helped with the family ranch. Bob and Carol then moved to Big Fork, Montana, where he started his electrical business. After about five years of wiring homes and businesses, Carol and

Bob sold everything and went RVing. Their seven years of travels took them all over the United States. Their travels concluded in St. Marys, where he worked as an estimator and planner for a contractor on the Kings Bay Submarine base. His final retirement was 2003. He enjoyed helping build his community church, helping those in need and was always up for an adventure.

His memorial was held at 2 p.m. Oct. 16 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Kingsland. Live streaming of the memorial can be accessed on the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church’s facebook page. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 30 in the Lavina, Montana, cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital are encouraged.
