Charlie Taylor, 81, of Woodbine passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden Campus.
Charlie Taylor was born on Sept. 8, 1939, to the late Mr. Boston Taylor and Mrs. Essie Mae (Simpson) Taylor. He was a member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, Woodbine, and former member of Enterprise Missionary Baptist Church.

He was a resident of the St. Marys Senior Care Center for several years. While there he would sing whenever possible. He loved to talk about the Lord and how good God was to him and encourage everyone he met to get their own relationship with the Lord.
He attended the Camden County school system and graduated from Ralph Bunche High School in 1959. In 1989, he met and married the love of his life, Mrs. Tommie Mae Lee (Taylor).

He was a devoted uncle, cousin, songstress and minister in his own right. He worked over 25 years at Brunswick Pulp Mill as a heavy machine operator. 

Besides his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Tommie Mae Lee Taylor; his brothers, Michael Taylor Sr., Theodore Taylor I, Boston Taylor Jr. and LeRoy (Rodney) Taylor; his sisters, Louise Taylor, Rutha Mae Scott, Eliza Rudolph, Gladys Jackson, LuRetha Cannon and Anna Mae Taylor; his niece, Betty Smith; his nephews, Wilbur Smith, Butch Scott, Anthony Scott and Levertis Rudolph; and two stepchildren, Joel Lee and Jeffrey Lee.

He leaves to cherish his memories, four stepchildren, Minister Catherine Williams, Mike Howard Lee, Jerlene (Johnathon) Jacobs and Eric (Dernia) Lee; his nieces and nephews, Michael Taylor Jr., Mitchell Taylor, Algertha Taylor, Tommie Taylor, Delia Shaw, George Smith, Samson Taylor, Larry Taylor, Jimmie Taylor, Jerry Scott, Bay Scott, Jeremiah Scott, Virginia Curry, Juanita Holmes, Titus Radcliff, Felicia (Radcliff) Fletcher, Randy Radcliff, Leonard Jackson, Serena Brown, Theo Taylor, Alex Taylor-Yaconetti and Nicholas Taylor. He will be missed by his first cousin, Barbara R. King, and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery, Dover Bluff Road, Waverly. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Face mask are required.
