JACKSON – On Friday, April 22, 2022, Willie Lee Jackson laid down his earthly body to accept his glorified body, welcoming him among the heavenly host honoring him. Willie was born July 23, 1953, to the late Joseph and Maude Jackson, of Woodbine, Ga.

Willie was reared by God-fearing parents who passed on the legacy of the knowledge of Jesus Christ. He confessed his belief in Christ and was baptized at Enterprise Baptist Church at an early age.

Willie graduated from Ralph Johnson Bunch High School in Camden County, Ga. After graduation, he immediately enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served 21 years and retired as a sergeant major. During his enlistment, he earned the Senior Parachutist Badge, he coached the All-Army Boxing Team, and while stationed in Alaska, he met the love of his life, Annette D. McGee, whom he married March 19, 1993. After serving his country for 21 years in the U.S. Army, he and his family settled in Frederick, Md., where he began his second career at Covanta Energy Company.

Willie was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was known for his quiet demeanor, loyalty, dedication to detail and strong work ethic. He had the unique ability to affect everyone who came into his path. He mentored his children and family with his lifestyle and words of wisdom. When he spoke, he encouraged everyone to embrace their better self.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Maude Jackson, and sister, Elizabeth Dunham.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Annette D. Jackson of New Market, Md.; children, St. Claire Jackson (Michelle) of Anchorage, Alaska, and Latosha Patrice Jackson of Enfield, N.C.; grandchildren, Sarah, Sariya and Samuel Jackson of Anchorage, Alaska, Taityania and Kevin Crosby, Heaven McGee, and Autumn, Summer and Aniyah Waters of Enfield, N.C.; two brothers, Joseph Jackson Jr. (Equilla) of Kingsland, Ga., and Larry Jackson (Sharon) of Savannah, Ga.; sister, Ida Celeste Mack of Woodbine, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Woodbine Cemetery, 1059 Ga. Highway 110, Woodbine, Ga. 31569.

Services will be live streamed for those unable to attend at royalfuneralhomeinc.com.

Everyone planning to attend services are asked to wear your masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
