People say “Grumpy” never lived up to his name. Nassau County Sheriff’s Office deputy Jack “Grumpy” Gwynes died Feb. 3 after a long battle with COVID-19. He was 61. Gwynes joined the sheriff’s office in 2019 after working at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for more than 20 years.
