Oasis faces the music after rate raise

Oasis Marinas took over management of the city-owned Fernandina Harbor Marina on Dec. 1.  On Dec. 17, the company sent out notices of a 25% increase in the rates some slipholders were paying at the marina.

  • People who have a boat slip that is further away from the center of the Fernandina Harbor Marina have traditionally paid a lower slip rental rate. However, when Oasis Marinas took over management of the marina earlier this month, they were unaware of the tiered rates, and raised the rates for “non-premium” slips so all slipholders pay the same.
