Bill restricting union voting passes state Senate

Georgia’s attempt at limiting how unions can organize within companies who accepted state economic incentives moved forward recently, but not without significant opposition. SB 362, carried by Sen. Mike Hodges with the support of Gov. Brian Kemp, passed the Senate by a vote of 31-23.

Woodbine earns GMA’s City of Civility honor

Woodbine was recognized as a City of Civility by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) at the Cities United Conference luncheon Jan. 28. The city of Woodbine adopted a civility resolution in GMA’s new Embrace Civility program Sept. 21.

Camden County High School’s Amelia Acosta was named the Kiwanis Club of St. Marys STAR Student. As the annual STAR Student, Acosta selected math teacher Kristen Suddath as her STAR Teacher. Suddath taught Acosta for three years and has taught for 18 years, including 15 years in Camden County.

PRAISE Act passes House committee
