MILLER-CHAPMAN – Mrs. Carrie Laverne Miller-Chapman, 78, of Kingsland, Ga., passed away on the evening of Friday, June 24, 2022, at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, Ga.

Mrs. Carrie was born Aug. 2, 1943, in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Robert and Edith Harrison. Carrie Miller was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved and adored her family.

After beginning her family, she moved to Camden County in the 1970s. Her door was always open, and she never met a stranger. An open heart and hand was always there for all those in need.

Known as “The Lady with all the Rings,” Carrie was an entrepreneur. She opened several dress shops and convenience stores between Camden and Uvalda.

Carrie was also a member of the Red Hat Society, and loved going to the Woodbine Osprey and cutting a rug. She was an avid traveler and loved going on cruises, cooking for her big family and sharing holidays and special moments with them. She loved her church family and loved the Lord with all her heart. Carrie was a special lady to a lot of people. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Carrie is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Chapman of Kingsland, Ga.; children, Rowdy Miller of Inman, S.C., Laverne (Steven) Batten of White Oak, Ga., Cecelia Miller (Jorge Spears) of St. Marys, Ga., Debbie (Walter) Davis of West Virginia, and Timothy (Christina) Chapman of West Virginia; grandchildren, Brandon (Karen) Miller, Richard K. (Jennifer) Miller, Stevie (Kristin) Batten, Nick, Siemer, Haily (Jose) Centeno and Brooke (Jacob) Dehaven; and great-grandchildren, Devon, Lee, Hunter, Cloe, Emmie, Tatum, Harleigh, Nataleigh, Izaak, Adeallea, Braxton, Lennix, Alexis, Alex, Christopher, Anna, Trenton, Madison, Anslee and Camden.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in passing by her husband of 41 years, Julian “Buddy” Miller; son, Richard Miller; and daughter-in-law, Sundra Lecroy-Miller.

A visitation was Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Forest View Baptist Church in Woodbine, Ga. Funeral Services were noon Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the church with Brother Jody Davis presiding. Interment followed at Homeward Cemetery in Waverly, Ga. Richard, Brandon, Lee, Stevie, Jorge and Jose served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Rowdy Miller, Joseph Harvey, Devon and Hunter.

Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, Ga., is entrusted with Mrs. Carrie’s arrangements.
