Roger Allen Craig, 70, passed away Sept. 28, 2021 at his home in Woodbine.

Roger was born to Roy and Beverly Craig in Winslow, Indiana, on Aug. 26, 1951.

He graduated from Winslow High School Class of 1969. Following graduation, Roger attended railroad training in Atlanta. He began his railroad career in March of 1970 with Penn Central Railroad in Petersburg, Indiana. He continued his railroad career in Indianapolis, Indiana; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before his retirement in September 2011 from CSX in Jacksonville, Florida.

During retirement, Roger volunteered at Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville and served as the president of the auxiliary. He was a member of University Boulevard Nazarene Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, golfing and fishing. Roger also loved Corvettes and was formerly a member of the Jacksonville Corvette Club showing off his beloved Corvette.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Tonya Powell. He is survived by his wife,

Wanda Myers Craig; daughter, Heather (Jeff) Fitzwater of Woodbine; and son, Matt (Shelli) Craig of Jacksonville, Florida.

Roger is also survived by six grandchildren Hope Fitzwater, Jenna Fitzwater, Payton Craig, Bryant Fitzwater, Dominic Craig and Maci Craig. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UBNC, 3930 University Blvd. S., Jacksonville, FL 32216, for an upcoming mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Roger loved going on mission trips and serving others.
