BATTS – Deloris Mainor Batts, 79, of Kingsland, Ga., transitioned from labor to reward with her husband by her side Sunday, June 5, 2022.

Deloris Mainor Batts’ journey began Nov. 11, 1942, in the southern part of Camden County, Rough and Ready Community. Her parents were Sam and Flossie Lang Mainor.

She graduated in the class of 1961 from Ralph Johnson Bunche High School. She was one who loved to travel. She met the love of her life, David Batts, and on Jan. 30, 1967, they were joined in holy matrimony. In March 1967, her travel experience began. Her husband was on active duty in the U.S. Navy. They were stationed in Italy for more than two years, and she traveled all over Europe. In 1976, they purchased a home in Carson, Calif. They spent 35 years in California. While in Carson, she worked 18 years for General Telephone Company, which is now Verizon.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, David Batts of Kingsland, Ga.; siblings, Lucy Robinson of White Oak, Ga., Charlie (Annette) Mainor of White Oak, Ga., Vivian (Anthony) Perry of Jacksonville, Fla., Sam (Barbara) Mainor of Folkston, Ga., and Paul Mainor of Kingsland, Ga.; very special friend, Brenda Wiley of Carson, Calif.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Browns Chapel A.M.E. Church, 344 New Post Road in White Oak, Ga. A walk-through visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Masks are required.

Interment will be in the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fla.
