Mrs. Mertice Lorraine Frost, 76, of St. Marys passed away on the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by her beloved family. 

Mrs. Frost was born on March 16, 1943, in Folkston to the late James Wade and Mertice Petty.

Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, nana, sister and friend to all who she encountered. She had a smile that would light up the room and to know her was to love her. You never saw Lorraine without a homemade dessert, a warm smile or telling you a story about her grandkids and great-grandkids. Her love for cooking, gardening and family will be carried on for generations to come.

Mrs. Frost is survived by her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Joseph Frost of St. Marys; her children, Lynn (Don) Lewis of Woodbine and Chris (Tonia) Frost of Eastman; her sisters, Mary Catherine Strickland and Shirley (James Roy) Hall, all of St. Marys; her brothers, James Wade (Lisa) Petty Jr. and Larry Petty, all of St. Marys; her brother-in-law, Glenn Walker of St. Marys; her grandchildren, Taylor (Tyler) Mobbs of St. Marys, Justin (Macy) Frost of Gray and Jarred Frost of Eastman; and her great-grandchildren, Ella Catherine Mobbs and Emory Grace Mobbs; her very close family friend, Marrisia Bowen of St. Marys; and her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Besides her parents, Mrs. Frost also joins her sister, Louise Walker; her sister-in-law, Connie Petty, and her brother-in-law, David Strickland in Heaven. 

A visitation for Mrs. Frost was held from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Feb. 28, at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland. A graveside service followed at 1 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys with Martin Turner presiding. Jason Walker, Jimmy Hall, David Walker, Eric Petty, Robert Hathaway, George White and Danny Mobbs with serve as pallbearers. Danny Bowen will serve as an honorary pallbearer. 

Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland is entrusted with Mrs. Frost’s arrangements.
