Sarah Lee Herrin, 80, of St. Marys ended her earthly journey on Friday, July 3, 2020, at Candler Hospital in Savannah.

Sarah Lee Herrin was born Jan. 12, 1940, to the late Rosa Hunt and the late Lee Walker, Jr., in White Oak. She attended school in Camden County. On Oct. 24, 1959, she married the love of her life, Clyde Herrin, in Queens, New York.

She was a faithful member of First African Baptist Church in St. Marys. She is preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, two grandchildren and 13 siblings.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Catha (Terry) Way, Kingsland, Doreen Middleton, Manhattan, New York, Clyde Herrin, St. Marys, Gregory Herrin, Kingsland and Clifton Outlaw, North Carolina; one brother, Robert (Rethamae) Walker; four sisters, Thelma (Lewis) Weir, Helen Goldwire, Lee Ann (Maldred) Peters, Berthiness (Johnnie) Johnson; one aunt, Ollie (Herbert) Scarlett; three sisters-in-law, Frances Blash, Mildred Herrin and Gladys Riggins; a best friend/devoted sister-in-law, Eunice Wilson; a devoted brother-in-law/best friend, Eugene Herrin; 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her church family that will miss her very much.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 18, 11 a.m. at Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, 978 Duncan Road, Johnston, South Carolina.
