Dawn Renee Woods McCullough, 55, of Woodbine passed away Jan. 3, 2020, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 8, 1964, in Hawkinsville, Georgia. She received her bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southwestern University and her master’s in early childhood education from Troy University. She taught at St. Marys Elementary, Woodbine Elementary, Mary Lou Gross Elementary and Folkston Elementary schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodbine.
She is preceded in death by her father, George Piney Woods V, and mother-in-law, Mary Jean McCullough.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, John McCullough; her children, Dylan (Kadie Surrency) Brown and Caleigh McCullough; her mother and stepdad, Peggy and Jimmy Martin; father-in-law, Rev. Gene McCullough; a sister, Cindy Woods Vardeman; a brother, George Piney Woods VI; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the First Baptist Church of Woodbine with Rev. Bill Alderman officiating. Burial was in Pineview Cemetery.
