Michael Anthony Smith, 33, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, at UF Health in Gainesville, Florida, after a brief illness.
Mr. Smith was born in Charleston, South Carolina, to Terry Allen Smith and Mary Elizabeth Thompson and made Fernandina Beach his home for the past few years. He was a front desk clerk at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island and an avid music lover. He enjoyed working out and he frequently attended Anytime Fitness in Yulee or Fernandina Beach. He was outgoing and loved nature walks with his fiancee.
Mr. Smith is survived by his mother, Mary Thompson of St. Marys; a daughter, Hailee Parrish of Kingsland; a brother, Allen Smith of St. Marys; his fiancee, Sara Boyd of Fernandina Beach; maternal grandfather, Johnnie Stubbs of St. Marys; paternal grandmother, Eleanor Talmantes (husband Manny) of El Paso, Texas; and numerous other family.
A celebration of life service was held at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at Allison Memorial Chapel. The family received friends beginning at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
