Mr. Timothy Douglas Strickland, 49, of Kingsland passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, after a short battle with COVID-19.

Doug, as he is known by family and friends, was born May 13, 1972, in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended Camden County High but had to leave high school due to medical issues. His family would like to thank Fresenius Kidney Care Center for the excellent care of Doug during his years on dialysis due to early renal failure.

Although he was restricted to enjoy life, as many know it, he never complained. He fought a long and hard battle with his kidney disease.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Faye Snipes Strickland. We know she was there to meet him in Heaven with hugs and kisses.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his father, Roger D. Strickland, and a brother, Roger “Dale” Strickland Jr., many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him deeply.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday Sept. 9 at Colesburg Cemetery in Woodbine. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Aldridge, Donnie Crews, Shannon Herrin, Roger Strickland, Dale Strickland and Jimmie L. Snipes.

“Fly high, Doug, nothing can stop you now. It is not what you were unable to accomplish while among us, but the memories you leave behind for us to cherish.”

Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland is entrusted with Mr. Strickland’s arrangements.
