Bob and Lynn Urspruch
Chief Petty Officer Robert W. Urspruch (retired), 67, of Conway, South Carolina, formerly from St. Marys, passed away on Aug. 27, 2021.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on July 11, 1954, he was the son of Catherine Jacques and Adolfo Urspruch. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynn; former wife, Debbie; and his sister Sharon. Survivors include three sisters, Carol Ellis, Barbara Westdyk and Catherine Holt. He was the loving father of Angela, Robert and Jordan; grandfather of five and great-grandfather to one. He also leaves many nieces and nephew.
Bob attended Dickinson High School, Jersey City, New Jersey, and joined the U.S. Navy in October 1973, where he served 21 years, retiring as chief petty officer.
He is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He and his jokes will be sadly missed by many.
Roberta "Lynn", 61, passed away peacefully at her St. Marys home with her loved ones by her side on May 7, 2020. Lynn was born Nov. 6, 1958, and was a St Marys native.
She is survived by her children Ricky (Megan) Baxley, Randy Baxley, Jerome Clinton Smith Jr. and Amy (David) Saavedra. Lynn also had several grandchildren who filled her life with love and joy.
She was also survived by her caring husband, Robert "Chief Bob" Urspruch, who later passed away on Aug. 27, 2021.
Lynn is proceeded in death by her late husband, Jerome Clinton Smith, her twin brother, Robert Wingate, and several other family members.
