SUSTAR – Van Richardson Sustar Jr., 65, of St. Marys, Ga., passed away at his residence May 22, 2022.
Born April 24, 1957, in Mecklenburg, N.C., to Van and Nel Sustar Sr., Van has been living in St. Marys for the past 21 years coming from Concord, N.C. He worked for Florida Rock as a truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith, a hard worker, and a strong and honest man. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was very proud of his sons. He enjoyed driving big trucks, being a mechanic and he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Survivors are his wife, Janet Sustar of St. Marys, Ga.; parents, Van and Nel Sustar of Charlotte, N.C.; children, Van Sustar III (Eleanor) of Charlotte, N.C., Eric Sustar of Charlotte, N.C., Kyle McReynolds (Katie) of St. Marys, Ga., Andrew Sustar of Fort Collins, Colo., Darrick McReynolds of Savannah, Ga., Alex Sustar (Jeannie) of Savannah, Ga., and Amanda Jo Perrin of St. Marys, Ga.; siblings, Randy Sustar (Jeannie), Sue Cooper (Jimmy) and Pat Sustar, all of Charlotte, N.C.; and grandchildren, Harleigh Sustar, Van Sustar, IV, Carter McReynolds and Evelyn McReynolds.
A celebration of life will be 6-7 p.m. Thursday May 26, 2022, at Allison Memorial Chapel.
