BURGER – U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. William Harry Burger (ret.), 88, died June 5, 2022, in St. Marys, Ga.

The East Freedom, Pa., native was a longtime resident of Savannah, Ga. He was a retired lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Air Force, and was a pilot and navigator. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. He enjoyed dancing above all, and he was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

"A spirit so light and a heart that soared higher than any plane could ever go."

Surviving are two daughters, Bridgett Arpin (Buddy) and Harriett Bowens (Roy); grandchildren, Rachelle Langbein (Aaron), Billy Arpin (Lacey) and Emily Bowens; and great-grandchildren, Raeanne Arpin, Dahlia Arpin, Piper Arpin and Maddox Langbein.

Visitation was 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2022, in the Hodgson Chapel at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors in Savannah Ga. The funeral service was 1 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2022, in the Hodgson Chapel at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.

Burial, with U.S. Air Force honors, was 3 p.m. in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park-East in Savannah, Ga.
