Robert Mitchell Woodard, 74, of White Oak passed away on Jan. 16, 2020, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick. 

He was born on Sept. 23, 1945, to the late, Dewey Woodard Sr. and Annie Mae Givens-Woodard in White Oak. "Buster,” as he was known by some of his family and close friends was educated at Ralph Bunche High School and was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church. Robert worked for many years at Thiokol chemical plant, years in the timber industry and did lawn care. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, telling his life lessons learned stories and spending time with his family.

Robert was preceded in death by both parents, Dewey and Annie Mae Woodard Sr.; his son, Kenneth Woodard; his sisters, Alberta "TeTe" Roche and Aggie B. Tyson; his brothers, Edward "Boot" Woodard, Dewey "Dick" Woodard Jr., Lynward Woodard and Walter "Woody" Woodard Sr.

Those left to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 59 years, Carrie Lee Beasley-Woodard, White Oak; two daughters, Rose (Gary) Hutchison Sr. and Tina Woodard, White Oak; three sons, Robert M. (Lisa) Woodard Jr., Folkston, Anthony (Donna) Woodard Sr., Yulee, Florida, and Jasper P. Woodard Sr., White Oak; one sister, Dorothy Mae Hutchison, Woodbine; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A viewing/wake will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Oak Hill United Methodist Church, White Oak.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Jerusalem No. 1 Church, White Oak.
