Kingsland named City of Civility

The city of Kingsland has been designated as a City of Civility by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA). Kingsland adopted a civility resolution in GMA’s new Embrace Civility program Oct. 10.

Pageant winner

Brooke Vanzant is the newly crowned Miss Hahira Honeybee 2023. The Hahira Honeybee Pageant was Sept. 30. By winning the title, Vanzant was awarded the title of Miss Georgia Honeybee USA 2024. With this title, she will be competing June 13-15, 2024, at Miss Georgia USA in McDonough.

FFA member competes in floral competition

Alissa Clark, a member of the Camden FFA chapter, recently placed fourth in the Area 6 Floral Design Career Development Event on Oct. 26 at Ware County High School. This event simulates real-world activities used by the floral industry to assess the knowledge and skill of students in floral design.

Reception to showcase photographer’s work

The Community Art Center will host a First Friday Artist Reception 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at 2006 Osborne Road in St. Marys. The Artist of the Month is Roger Graw of R. Graw Photography. Refreshment will be served and Amanda Mood Music will perform on the front porch.

PSA search for next executive director continues

The Camden County Public Service Authority’s search for a new executive director continues. On Thursday, Camden County PSA Board Chairman Terry Landreth said the parks and recreation agency’s sole finalist, Tony Duckworth, was not offered a contract to serve as the executive director.
