The Community Art Center will host its First Friday Artist Reception from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 1, in honor of Artist of the Month Jennie Bagwell.Bagwell is a lifelong painter whose work celebrates the interplay of light, emotion and the stories we carry within us.

St. Marys Little Theatre – essentially homeless since August 2025 – has found a new location for its theater performances.On Sunday, theater founder Barbara Ryan Harris announced the community theater will relocate to 4515 Ga. Highway 40, Suite E, in St. Marys.

Representatives from the Rotary Club of Camden County recently spoke at a meeting of the local St. Marys Kiwanis Club to share updates on the Wee Read program, a literacy initiative serving young children in the community.

A Camden County resident has been promoted to a top law enforcement post in Georgia.Col. Chris Hodge was recently appointed the director of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division.Hodge began his career with the state agency in 2001 a game warden in the Coastal Region.

Former St. Marys City Councilman and U.S. Navy veteran Jim Gant, 85, died April 13. Gant served on City Council for three terms, from 2012 through 2022. Prior to his service on City Council, he was the chairman of the St.
